Feeding Difficulties
Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding require a surprising amount of coordination. If your baby struggles with latching, prefers feeding on one side, or seems uncomfortable in certain positions, we'll assess their movement and musculoskeletal function, including cranial and spinal findings.
Our specialized cranial approach also includes gentle intraoral adjustments, when appropriate, to address cranial biomechanics and evaluate palate shape and function. This allows us to consider how the structures involved in feeding are moving and working together.
We also provide individualized bodywork before and after lip and tongue tie revisions, with attention to cranial and spinal mobility, tension patterns, and your baby's comfort. We coordinate with the provider performing the revision and your baby's feeding team, recognizing that bodywork is a complementary service rather than a required step for a successful revision.
Feeding is a team effort. We value close relationships with lactation consultants, feeding therapists, and revision providers so families have the right expertise and support throughout the process.
